COLLABORATIVE SCHOOL PROJECT

DESCRIPTION:
PNG and Australian Year 9-11 students will gain an insight into the fundamentals of ‘the role of the reporter’ and how to create a short audio report inspired by local events, news and items of interest. Students will explore techniques for researching, preparing, presenting and recording reports. Trainers include young female PNG-Australian writers, journalists and communicators.
LEAD:
Foto Friendships is led by the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS). AFTRS is Australia's national screen arts and broadcast school. The school is an Australian Commonwealth Government statutory authority. It is a member of Arts8, the Australian Roundtable for Arts Training Excellence. Program detail:
Student Reporters is an online activity in PNG and Australia, including:
One online introductory session for students and educators. This will be facilitated by AEF in partnership with the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS), to support PASS school participants who choose to undertake this activity.
Student workbook, for students to use as they undertake Student Reporters, in PDF format
Students record one-minute of audio per day for 20-days on their mobile device and import to a laptop or computer for editing.
Concluding Audio Gallery, delivered asynchronously

Resources and materials created as part of this collaborative activity
